No turkey. No pumpkin pie. No sticky rice (Chinese stuffing).
It was Canadian Turkey Day (Thanksgiving) and there wasn’t a single holiday dish on the table. Rather than gorge ourselves on turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and all the other holiday fixings, we dressed to impress and headed downtown to the great theatre district of Detroit. Which, apparently is a big deal, and we took in a show at the 100 year old Fox Theater.
Yes, that’s right. Lady Antebellum. Who would have thought a Sunday night concert would be packed with soccer moms rushing the stage trying to catch the attention and shake the hand of the male lead?
